East African Cables manufactures electrical cables and conductors for construction, energy and infrastructure at its Nairobi factory, with a subsidiary in Tanzania, and is majority owned by TransCentury. Equity Bank placed it under administration in June 2025 over unpaid debt and trading in its shares on the NSE has been suspended since. In May 2026 Cable Experts Limited agreed to buy TransCentury's stake.
