About Kenya Power
Kenya Power transmits, distributes and retails electricity across Kenya and is the country's sole electricity retailer. Formed in 1922 as the East African Power and Lighting Company, it was renamed KPLC in 1983 and rebranded Kenya Power in 2011; its head office is Stima Plaza, Nairobi. It has been listed on the NSE since 1954 and the government holds about 50.1 percent.
