Twelve lenders make up the largest block on the exchange after Safaricom: KCB Group, Equity Group, Co-operative Bank, NCBA, Absa Kenya, Standard Chartered, Stanbic, I&M Group, Diamond Trust, HF Group, Family Bank (listed by introduction in June 2026) and Rwanda's BK Group, cross-listed in Nairobi. Bank shares move with interest rates set by the Central Bank, loan-book quality, government borrowing and results, which arrive for the full year in March and the half year in August. Most pay an interim and a final dividend, so book-closure dates cluster in April, May and September.
